Focusing on neighbourhoods renowned for the foodie environment with a segment of their population in need of food assistance, Cook the 'Hood is an organization that:

• Celebrates neighbourhood spirit
• Promotes local businesses
• Provides a mechanism to support local programs and initiatives providing food assistance to those in need
• Strives to improve awareness of food security issues

Cookbooks With a Difference to Make a Difference

Contributed by socially-conscious businesses with some of the closely-guarded cooking secrets of the area's best eateries, the wide selection of recipes truly capture the vibe of the diverse neighbourhoods.

The books also highlight the work being done to improve awareness of the food security issues facing all of us in today's society and aims to provide a motivation to get more involved.

Proceeds from the sales of each publication are donated to a partnering charity working in the neighbourhoods to provide food assistance to those in need.

Publications will be produced and rejuvenated annually focusing on many different neighbourhoods in Vancouver and throughout Canada.
